Air Compressor Aftercooler Forums

This valve has given me fits over the years and has been replaced several times.
Air compressor aftercooler forums. It’s goal is to cool the air before it gets to the tank, which causes it to drop a bunch of the moisture (not all, you still want a dryer or other moisture reducer if you need really dry air for applications like painting). One side of the v8 is the standard internal combustion engine, the other side makes fast, continuous air. I have both an after cooler (with fan) and refrigerated air dryer (hankison hit35) along with an in line filter and auto drain for the compressor tank.

Up for sale is this grimmer schmidt air compressor. If a motor is 90% efficient then that means that 10% is heat so if 1 hp = 42 btu/min and there are 150 hp and it runs 50% of the time wouldn’t that come out to 150 hp x 42 btu/hp x 0.10 (heat) x 0.50 (time) = 315 btu/min/hp, so cfm = 315 btu/min/1.08 x 45*f(dt) = ~6.5 cfm/hp x 150hp = 985cfm Aftercoolers reduce the amount of water vapor in a compressed air system by condensing the water vapor into liquid form.
The aftercooler is just a simple cooler that goes between the compressor outlet and the tank. Each that can handle the temp, cfm and pressure no ifs and or buts. This unit is powered by a ford v8 351w gasoline engine.
Like i said that was a rule of thumb for a mechanical room maybe this is a better estimate: After installing the aftercooler, the air entering the tank was within a couple of degrees of room temperature and exited the tank even nearer room temperature, again at or near 100% r.h. Compressor aftercooler and oil cooler :
Best of all, it's free! Aftercoolers are heat exchangers for cooling the discharge from a air compressor. Water cooling is way more effective than air.
