Dry wall dust is such a fine powder that simply walking around in the work area stirs it up.

Remove drywall dust from air. Specialized sanding equipment and some sanding methods can reduce the amount of dust in the air, but anytime you dry sand, wear a dust mask. The installation and finishing of the drywall creates the most dust during a home or office renovation. Use a small pry bar to remove the trim.

Wearing a face mask or air respirator to protect from dust, use the pry bar to remove all of the trim from the wall, including the baseboard, crown molding, any chair rails, and any molding or trim from around doors or windows where the drywall is located. Make sure you change it immediately even if you just changed it before the drywall work! Drywall is a simple term that means calcium sulfate dihydrate or gypsum panels.

Along the baseboards, used dryer sheets are very effective at getting into the nooks and crannies, gathering up dust. This is sufficient for a regular area, but if you are talking about a bigger one, you might need to look for a bigger vacuum. Demolition of old drywall also generates a considerable amount.

Do not remove your face mask during cleaning. It requires sanding, which results in a large amount of dust. Limit access to the work area.

Vents can cause a buildup of dust in the air, so it should be removed. Effective hepa filters can remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles, helping you effectively control and reduce dust inside your home. This is what makes drywall such a good fire barrier.

Run the mop or the vacuum over the vents, drawing out any dust. It becomes impossible to sweep or remove the dust once it gets into the heating and cooling ducts. The dust isn't poisonous, but it does create a respiratory hazard, so letting it circulate throughout the house isn't an option.you don't want to wet it down, though, because it turns into a goopy mess that settles into every crack and crevice in the room.
